Terms of sale
Last updated: 22 October 2026
In short. Thimbles of Plenty is run by Averian Ltd, an Irish company. You buy digital book summaries from us, either one at a time, by the shelf, or with a 12-month membership. Every price is a one-off payment: nothing renews automatically. Downloads are available straight away, so the usual 14-day right to cancel ends once you have them. If anything is wrong with what you bought, we put it right. Your legal rights as a consumer are never affected by these terms.
1. Who we are
Thimbles of Plenty is a business name of Averian Ltd, a private company limited by shares, registered in Ireland under company number 462095.
Our address is Bridgewater House, 89 O'Connell Street, Limerick, V94 VN25, Ireland.
You can contact us at thimblesofplenty@gmail.com. We reply within two working days.
Averian Ltd is not currently registered for VAT.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you buy from us as a consumer through our website, thimblesofplenty.com (or thimbles.ie and thimblesofplenty.co.uk, which lead to the same site).
Licences for programmes, teams and organisations are covered by a separate written agreement.
Please read these terms before you buy. When you place an order, you agree to them. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on the website when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
3. What we sell
- Single summaries, €1.99. One Thimbles summary as a PDF to keep, in the language you choose, plus the English original.
- Shelves, €9.99. Every summary on one of our six themed shelves, as PDFs to keep, in the language you choose, plus the English originals.
- The Library membership, €39. Twelve months' access to every summary in the library, in the language you choose and in English, including new titles as we publish them. It is paid once and does not renew automatically.
Each summary is described on its page on our website. Summaries are available in nine languages; the English original is included with every purchase at no extra cost.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in euro and are shown on the website and at checkout. If we become registered for VAT, prices will include VAT at the rate that applies to you, and nothing more is added at checkout.
Every price is a one-off payment. You pay through PayPal's secure checkout, either from a PayPal account or with a debit or credit card without a PayPal account. We never see or store your full card details.
If we change a price, it does not affect an order you have already paid for, or the rest of a membership period you have already paid for.
5. Your order
Your order is accepted when we send you a receipt by email. The receipt confirms what you bought, the price, and the consent you gave to receive your download or membership straight away.
Downloads are available straight away, from the link in your receipt and on the screen after you pay. If a link does not work, email us and we will send the files again.
Please keep your receipt email. You will need it to download your files again, to cancel or to ask about a refund.
6. Memberships
- Your membership starts when you pay and lasts 12 months.
- It is a one-off payment and does not renew automatically. We will email you before it ends, and you can choose to renew.
- PDFs you downloaded during your membership are yours to keep for your own use after it ends.
- If we ever offer memberships that renew automatically, we will explain the terms clearly and ask for your agreement before you join one.
7. Your right to cancel (the 14-day cooling-off period)
When you buy online, the law normally gives you 14 days to change your mind and cancel.
For digital downloads (single summaries and shelves), that right ends once the download is made available to you, because at checkout you ask us to supply it straight away and confirm that you understand you will lose the right to cancel. We confirm your consent in your receipt email.
For memberships, you can cancel within 14 days of joining for a full refund, as long as you have not opened or downloaded any summary. Once you have, the 14-day right to cancel ends.
To cancel within the 14 days, email us with your order number. Our Refund Policy explains how refunds are made.
8. If something is wrong
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, what we sell you must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for its purpose. If a file is faulty, incomplete, the wrong title or missing a language edition, tell us and we will fix it or send a replacement quickly. If we cannot, you are entitled to a price reduction or a full refund.
If you spot a factual error in a summary, please tell us. We correct errors we confirm and send the corrected file to everyone who bought it.
9. How you may use our summaries
When you buy a summary, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to read it and keep a copy for your own use.
Please do not share, resell, publish, upload or pass on our files or text, or use them to train or prompt AI systems. If you want to use our summaries with a team, a class or a programme, ask us about a licence.
10. About our summaries
- Our summaries are independent summaries and commentary on published books, written in our own words. They are not affiliated with, authorised or endorsed by any author or publisher, and they do not replace the original book. Book titles and author names are used only to identify the books we write about.
- Our summaries are drafted and checked with the help of AI tools, under the direction of our founders, and a person signs off every title before publication.
- The Thimbles Rating is our editorial opinion of the original book. It is not an average of customer reviews.
- Our summaries are general information to help you decide what to read and what to try. They are not professional, financial, legal or medical advice.
11. Links to buy the full books
Our book pages link to Bookshop.org and Amazon so you can buy the full books. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, and we may earn a commission from Bookshop.org. You pay the same price either way. Those purchases are made with those sellers, on their terms, not ours.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
We sell our summaries for personal use. Within the limits the law allows, we are not responsible for business losses (such as lost profits or lost opportunities), or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order. Otherwise, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, but we will let you know and do what we can to put things right.
13. Your personal data
We use your personal data only to process your order, give you access to what you bought, send your receipt and reminders, and, if you agree, our weekly email. Our privacy notice sets out the details and your rights.
14. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything you bought from us, please email thimblesofplenty@gmail.com first. We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days.
If we cannot resolve it, you can find information on your consumer rights from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie), and for cross-border issues within the EU from the European Consumer Centre Ireland (eccireland.ie). Consumers in the UK can contact Citizens Advice.
15. The law that applies
These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts can hear any dispute.
If you live in another EU country or in the UK, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
